Today we filmed our first scene, on the second floor of our college. it was more difficult than we thought as we needed a group of people to be in it, so it was hard to gather those people and it wasted a lot of time trying to find people who would agree. It took about 4 shots for us to get it right. We did however enjoy filming it as we were able to put all of our planning into finally shooting a scene.

Filming - first half of library scene (without librarian)

Cast - Mitchell (Zachary)
Today we filmed the library scene at the UCB campus. Things went well and we improvised at one point by using a stool with wheels in order to do a smooth tracking shot. A few other people who study at the UCB campus were there doing independent work so we made sure not to distract them. The actor who is playing the librarian in our film was not available to film on this day so we will be filming the scenes with her on another day, in order to do this we will make sure that Mitchell wears the same outfit to avoid a break in continuity.

Filming - bedroom scenes

Cast - Mitchell (Zachary)
Today we filmed the scene in which Zachary is in his bedroom performing a ritual with the book of spells that he finds in the library. We found this scene relatively easy to film and the pictures posted who the set design which we managed to come up with which we were quite proud of as a group. Some camera angles were hard to film as the room was relatively small and some of the birds eye view shots had to be filmed standing on a bed which might not have ensure for the best stability although we did use a tripod and tried to get the shot to look as stable as we could.
Filming - second half of library scene (with librarian)

Today we filmed the second half of the library scene with the librarian in it. This was one of the first shots that we have filmed with talking in it. Because this was the second half of the library scene we needed to ensure that Mitchell wore the same outfit to make sure that continuity was not broken. Overall, this scene was easy to film as it was quick and we managed to get it done in our lunch hour. The library was easy to get access to as it is part of our college and the person who we got to act as the librarian was really good at acting and a great person to have in our film.
Filming - Classroom scene

Cast - Mitchell (Zachary), Louis (Bully) and extras
Today we filmed the classroom scene, we decided to do it in one of our media lessons and got everyone involved in the classroom. As part of this scene, Zachary writes 'STOP' in his book to which everyone in the classroom freezes. This scene is posted below as we thought that it went really well. Overall, this scene was a lot more simple to film than we might have first expected and the mannequin challenge only took us one take.

Filming - Power scenes

Today we filmed the scenes where Zachary goes mad with his new found power and writes things down in his book in a rush to use his power in a bad way. Filming went well today but it was quite hard to find someone who would willingly trip over, if we could refilm the spilling of the drink scene I think we would. Izzy was in the background of all of the scenes where the scenarios were taking place wearing a red coat, this is to signify something to the audience and all will be revealed at the end.

Filming - Park scene

Today we filmed the park scene which is the last scene of our film. We thought this filming this scene went well as Mitchell had to respond to the word 'STOP' written in Izzy's book which contrasts with the classroom scene as he is the one being frozen instead of him freezing everyone else. The shots we got today were good as we shot them from different angles meaning they were easier to match together whist editing

Filming - Extra scenes

Whilst going through the film during the editing process we decided we wanted to add a few more scenes which meant refilming some short snippets. We had a closeup shot of Mitchell's eyes with a blurry background showing a reaction shot. In order to convey the correct message to our audience we decided to shoot a few more and add them in to the film.
